No bitching, use the thread provided If you cant make the deadline see me BEFORE the deadline or you'll be treated as a no-show (IMPORTANT: If you don't think you will be able to make it, the sooner you make me aware of it, the better, as a reserve will be selected to take your place.) All verses must be in by: Saturday, 20th of September 2008 at 12:00 AM EST (that's Midnight on Friday) Theres no "you spit first", all verses have the same deadline so dont wait for your opponent. DO NOT POST YOUR VERSE. PM your verse to me! if you have problems PM'ing it to me, my email address is in my profile. If you have to e-mail your verse, make sure you title of the e-mail reads: "(your username) - Round 1 verse vs. (your opponent)". NO EXCUSES. Votes will last for 1 week from when the verses are posted. If you finish your verse ahead of the deadline, send it to me as soon as possible. Swift, not a bad verse started off well with some nice hits but fell off in the middle to the end (last 2 bars were weak imo) first two were nice though Smooth, Nice verse not your best but still nice enjoyed the read and the punches landed, also made me laugh and personals added to the strength of the punches Vote - Smooth takes it, landed more punches -------------  |

Swift... 1st bar was fire. Nice way to open... Never seen it before... Effective wordplay etc...
2nd bar... Nice personal... You're coming at him at his weak points... You're magnifying them, which is what battling is all about... 3rd bar... Lol... Funny. 4th bar... Not as strong as the previous ones... Just okay to be honest... Closer... This had way more potential to land harder...Seems like you got tamer in the last 4 bars... Yes, Smooth surfaces get slippery when wet is true, but calling him "slippery" doesn't seem to be a nice diss... How is the adjective "slippery" a diss to someone? Lol... I dunno... Smooth... Nice way to open... Wordplay is on point. Never seen it used like that before... 2nd bar... Above average wordplay... I've seen similar shit to this which is why it wasn't 100% fire to me, but not so direct with the "Swift"... Others used it generic like "You're like Em.. you dont have the proof" or some shit like that, so that's why this one still held up... 3rd bar... Nice personal... You're getting at his weak points, similar to what he did to you in his earlier bars... Probably could have been a harder hit if you played around with the idea, but still very solid... 4th bar... Can't really argue with that one... It's there, it's direct... It's hitting 5th bar... Another wordplay... Good use of it too... A new concept... Overall, my favorite single hit was from SS, but he didn't hold up the fire in last 4 lines that he started out with... Smooth was constantly hitting from various angles... Wordplay, personal, wtc... Smooth was more consistent, and less of his concepts were questionable of hitting or not... therefore, he gets my vote... The best battle I've voted on so far in the tourney in terms of no weak lines by each battler... v/smooth |

Yea smooth took this easily. He had stronger hitting punches. Opener was dope & the crew page thing pretty much clowned him. Rest of the stuff was average but still good enough. I agree with the 2 voters above me, about how SS had a nice verse but it wasn't good enough. His opener was pretty good, but it pretty much fell off from there
