I have noticed alot of people seem to be having problems posting battle verses by Copy & Pasting MS Word documents. For those of you unaware, there is a special paste button on the full reply box that allows you to paste from word. If you look on the top toolbar of the post box, 4th from the left, you will see a clip board with a Word Icon, if you click this it will remove all of the odd code that Word brings with it, allowing your verses to stay nice and clean. I have not done complete tests with it but it appears to keep all formating (bold, italic, links etc) on your verse. Failing that, you could always use Notepad! -------------  |

Why the hell do you guys use word to type your shit anyway? Use the damn reply page like a normal person would...and just avoid the problem completely. Fuckin knuckleheads man. |

As far as battle verses, people shouldn't be copying and Pasting anyway, you just do it there on the spot, unless it's a big final or something. I only used to copy and paste, cos the preview didn't use to open up, so i needed to see how it looked, but now i just use the reply box. Fair do's, but why not just highlight and "copy" after each bar, then if it does it, you can go back to the page when its working, and you've got it saved without using word.

No...when you hit "post reply" sometimes it doesn't post it for whatever reason and you hit "back" on the broswer and it has wiped the verse...therefore provides incentive to use a word processor -------------

But what i mean is like if i were to highlight this response and click copy, then if i pressed post now, and it fucked up, the computer would still remember the copy i did, so i'd be able to fill it again and see if it worked a second time.

thats why i just type it on the notepad first and then copy it over to the site.. sometimes my router loses signal too.. so when i hit post i lose connection and then verse goes bye bye.. ------------- "See-sick'ness" in the mix cause I flow like the ocean.. ..Slick.. |

This post is because Microsoft in their infinite wisdom, to put it bluntly, are shit at making software. If you Copy and Paste a verse from MS Word it will copy over a load of weird shit that handles the formatting on Word. So you don't just copy your verse, you get weird symbols added in, just for fun. Try it and see what happens. Then you will realise why this is here. ------------- |
