I have decided to take the step of closing the battlefields to people in the Newbies group. This is because there are far to many newbies signing up, not giving a shit to find out how things work, fucking up or posting "dunno how it works here" - despite there being a huge yellow box telling them how to get started. This should now give new members a chance to earn a rep and figure out how things work round here. It should reduce the number of "drive by losers" who disappear after there first loss. For vets of other sites, you should also drop some Open Mics, and more importantly some feedback on others, helping to build up a reputation for your self, helping to encourage people to want to battle you as well as showing off your skill and knowledge. Not sure if this is possible but...could we have some kind of vouching system whereby if you're an established member on the site then you can vouch for a newbie (I.e. If you know them from another site and they are sensible) and it means they aren't subject to this? In general though I think it's a good idea...may need to police spamming a bit more. -------------

Unfortunately it would be to much hassle. They would need to be taken outside of the Ladder Group so would but progress with post counts. It could also only be done by my self, not the mods, and I doubt I would have the time to pop up and move people about. Besides, as others have said, it doesn't take long to get out of newbie with legit activity. Few open mics, feed and general discussions and they'll be able to battle in no time. ------------- |

A good way to boost ur post count is participating in the cypher games. As well as giving good feedback on open mics and audio mics. Take part in the hip hop chat discussions, and take time to post work in the elevation centre. -------------

I have a little experience with lyrical battle sites and went straight to trying to vote, looking at metas/multies/creativity/originality and more but couldn't vote? Im not here to chat about games or music I purely like to get involved in the text battles.. How am I suppose to pass the 50 post mark? I think this is faaaar to many posts for people such as myself Incase you got the wrong impression, Im not hating :) much love for the site...
