Look...

I break verses down, section for section, person for person....  Tell what I like about them and what I dislike about them..... Then at the end of the verse, I explain how I felt about the verse in a whole...... Then I do the same for the next person.....  Then I place my vote and after I cast my vote I even explain why I voted for whom I voted for.....

I'm a skilled topical writer, and I give good twist on topics as well, so I'm experienced when it comes to writing a topical verse......  So you can't say the way I feel about something is because of my lack of topical ability....... I fully understand the route people take when they write their verses.....

I always give 100% honest feedback on how I feel about a verse...... Everyone has different opinions and just because I don't feel the same as the next person on the verse, why should my votes be disallowed?

I don't understand why my votes get canceled...  Voting is about how the reader responds to your verse.... I give my honest feedback, and a honest vote, yet they get rejected?????

What am I suppose to do????

I fully understand everyone's verse, and I gave my full opinion and criticism so what else am I suppose to do????

 

the explanation for vote was very little. example, you tend to copy and paste their verses, then after 4-8 bars you write 1 sentence about it or less, and normally it doesn't say what can be done to improve it. so in essence, the vote was simply not good enough. most ppl get "good" hardly "excellent". so if people are writing a lot more (not including the verse being reviewed) and getting good, there is a scale, and pushes shorter ones to either low and needs improvement, or disallowed.

 

 

another reason would be because the vote and reasoning is poor, and it is noticeable that it is being made with hatred in the mind, whether consciously or subconsciously. easy example, you can look at some of the comments made on my a.e. diss, you can tell its just cuz they were being attacked, but their opinion was being tainted with hate ( I mean, who wouldn't be mad at the person dissing their crew, besides crimson, that selfless prick!). another example, I know axy dropped a long detailed hate feedback on one of the disses or something. I read it, clearly he was being effected by hate/beef. if that was a vote, it would have no doubt been disallowed (no hate axy, just good example lololol).

 

but those would be the main reasons.

thats a problem for people like me. I look at all the technical aspects, and yes, they are categories that i sort out in my head and take all into consideration ... but at the end of the day, i will vote on the body of work that entertained or moved me the most

No, he's really not. Oh, btw, JayHom's voting statistic's...probably the same since he suggested the voting template however many years ago.

Gotta say though, great support for S Dubb here...no advice about how to get better, just the old "don't worry bro, you're amongst a tidal wave of shit voting. It's not your fault."

Nothing like being the change you want to see in the universe, huh. It's cool though. Let's just complain about the votes you aren't willing to put in yourselves. 

As for the voting template idea. Listen, I respect suggestions aimed at making things better. But it just doesn't work. Here's why:

First hurdle. Is it a mandatory template or a suggested one? If it's mandatory, do I throw out EVERY vote that doesn't use it? What if it's an otherwise excellent vote? But I have to be super anal about process & rules? Because I remember when we tried that & the members weren't big fans of that. If it's guidance, are the people who actually need to use it (aka the so called tidal wave of people who don't know what they're doing) actually going to use it? Well, obviously not, they don't know what they're fucking doing so they don't know they should use a voting template. 

So basically...the people you want to improve are gonna not use it. Then you have to battle them to try and make them use it. Guess what, a whole bunch of people won't bother. Even worse, a whole bunch of people who ARE good voters will be turned off by it...so they won't bother to vote either. I for one would definitely be put off voting if someone told me how to do it. Let alone two fucking guys who don't do any fucking voting. 

Sorry but I don't have time for people who a) talk about how voting should be, but don't do it themselves; b) hijack a thread about EDUCATING a NEW guy about how to IMPROVE and COMPLAIN about voting standards (that's more @ Spume to be fair to Jay) & making ZERO contribution to suggesting how this guy can improve.

P.S. if you mother fuckers actually cared about voting. Recruit people to your crew & lead by example. Get voting in the way you think it should be done. Encourage your crew to do it. Give pointers on your crew board where others can't see it about how to be better. But don't piss and moan, coz otherwise you're part of the problem and not part of the solution.
