Rap Tutorials: a few tips

here are a few lil tips...


Part 1 - Names

The best name you can give a rapper is of one kind - their own and original. Try to think of a name for yourself that describes what you are about and who you are. DON'T TRY TO COPY OTHER RAPPERS NAMES!! If someone copy's anothers name, it's really annoying, obvious and shows that the person does not have any originality or creativity. Try to find out as many rappers names as possible to avoid copying someone elses name. And for your own sake, do NOT choose something like "Ice ......" Think of all the "Ice's" in the industry already!

Part 2 - Content

Try to rap about issues you feel strongly or care about but don't take yourself too seriously. Make sure you can have different styles for different occasions. Think of 2Pac : he could have a tough side in tracks like "Hit 'em Up", a caring side in tracks like "Keep Ya Head Up" and just straight up party sides in tracks like "I'm Losin' it". (Don't take these as complete examples.)

Part 3 - Effort

If you want to stay in the Hip hop game, don't give up. No matter how many record companies reject you or people say that you can't rap, keep trying. These people only say this because they can't rap themselves and don't want to be embarassed by a hot MC busting out with a hot freestyle right in their faces and not being able to do anything back because they have a flow like a blocked river. Keep striving for the deal and if you work hard enough and deserve it, it will come. Just give it time.
