LA Magazine: BR#2: Early Predictions [Merlin Edition]

ok folks - after reviewing the bracket setup in the battle royale, ive decided to hit ya'll with my predictions straight out of Chains [Crystal Ball].

Ridley vs Rutter - I think Ridleys style will once again be too much for Rutter Chose Next.. I find Ridleys style [much like his interview] to be a bit more on the comedy side of things with punches. I think Rutters more blunt and direct style will be overwhelmed.


Ridley vs Khumani - I'll admit I dont know much about Khu, I think I read his troll drop OM but that was about it. Depending on how much LuLz he put into his Trollz, this could be a wildcard/crazy ass battle or a massive landslide. so with those variables, this is one of the more interesting battles for me.


Ridley vs Beans - ive long said that Beans always does "JUST ENOUGH" to win, and I think he can be truly wild if he applied himself. I think the frequency in which he battles really zaps the inspiration and desire from him, but the pace is what makes Beans…well…Beans. This format doesnt really work with the "JUST ENOUGH" mentality, but if Beans really comes correct, hes a strong battle for anyone. I got Ridley here via more focus material.

Ridley vs Dizzle - Dizzle honestly surprised the fuck out of me vs Rutter. I think it was the first battle I ever judged on LA and had it as a tie. Dizz has a knack for channeling his energy. if you say hes wack, he'll write some dope shit.. if you say hes sick he'll push boundaries you didnt know you had. I think that trait of proving people wrong more than "proving himself" is dangerous for anybody. I think this one will be a styles clash. Dizz with the potent venom and Ridley with the straight roasting. its a coin flip for me.. and if this was topical id have Dizz by landslide.. but ill give Ridley the edge I think. Only because of how well matched Dizz was with Rutter and I think Ridley will breeze through Rutter Chokes Kids..

Ridley vs Law - This one here is the one folks. its finally down to the two biggest comedians going.
I think Law's humor is unmatched really. his rampage disses and banana swag are really hysterical. I think Law beats Ridley and ends an impressive streak via better bars.



Law vs Tre - Another Epic matchup. Crew vs Crew.. Brother vs Brother.. another styles clash. Tre prefers the setup punchlines were I feel some of his lines are dictacted by the previous bar or the previous bar is placed to lay the punch. example if his punch was 'law school'.. he'd say something like "break rules, trizzy tre!! leave broken Jaws Too..
I taught you, 'raised the bar' and 'breeze through law school" type shit..which is a cool style.. but against someone who doesnt care about cool points and just wants to embarass the fuck out of you..I dont think its enough. just imo..

Law vs Daemon - this isnt even fair.. Law by showing up.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this to see how it pans out. I've not read much from Ridley but what I have seen was pretty good so he could go far, but Law/Tre should win this.

Cool idea with the predictions thread though, it's threads like this that get others involved and build the hype up around these events. There seems to be a lot more of this sort of thing on LA these days and it's great to see. Kudos!

Looks good. I don't see any clear favorite here, there's 4-5 dudes here who's capable of winning it.

Fuck yo predictions neek! :p I agree with con though it's anybody's game. There is gonna be little room for error in some of these battles coming up.

and with that said.. Id say my predictions thus far wouldve been bang on had Ridley not got jerked.

I didnt see the plot twists or some of the build

but I hope everyone is enjoying the tournament thus far.

first and foremost, one time for the homie Law winning br2 with ease.. rest is just a formality.

second and equally as important, shoutout to the homie CHAIN letting me borrow his crystal ball...that shit is the real deal.
