I've not been around alot the last couple days tbh, been in a stoned daze for my birthday. I'd recommend just going hard at him, if he missed the challenge you can be damn sure that a 1 sided unlimited diss "battle" will very swiftly become two sided ;)

Nice man, happy bday.
Yea I'm down for this, but Art needs to accept your offer first...
I'm not looking to write unlimited barz if he isnt dropping, it takes the fun away and becomes pointless.

^That's your prerogative, this was a challenge, not an organized event. I issued mass challenge to see if people can "back up" the supposed standing they carry. Whether y'all go through with it or not is a personal choice. Everybody likes to talk about how us older heads "live in the past" in regards to the talent levels. Fact is that back then cats would go unlimited bars REGULARLY and hold it down. ALl of y'all with your 32 line max verses are cute, for real, but it's not that impressive to people who've seen the equivalent of a year's worth of y'all's content in a WEEK on the regular. That's all it is, a challenge to see if those reps are deserved. You best believe I'm going to be dropping a SIGNIFICANT number of lines in my horrorcore showcase.

Like I say, I'm not an organiser. If people want to accept the challenges or ignore them as they wish, that's up to them. I threw the challenge out there, and I'm amazed so many people have accepted tbh. I just hope all of these people who have accepted come through, I made the challenge based mostly on "this is shit I'd love to read/hear" rather than wanting to organise an event or anything like that, that's too much hassle and puts the focus too much on the "organizer" for me tbh. Like I say I issued a challenge, and to "take part" I'm going to display my own skills to their very fullest with 2 emcees who's style I both love and find to be a great accompaniment to my own. The bonus "side effect" is the attempt to increase activity, and also (don't know if anyone realised this side) try and drum up a whole bunch of "classic verses" as per the recent discussions.

That's great. But being able to drop 576 bars is not a 'stat'.This is entertainment. As a writer you're trying to keep the reader interested. You're basically priding yourself on your ability to bore the 'consumer'. No, I'm not ducking, cause I'm gonna drop a stupid amount of bars just to let y'all know I can do it. Texting is a dying art form and it has evolved. All that lyrical miracle spiritual, Armenian gods resurrecting Annunaki on asteroids shit is done. That shit was always wack anyway. And dropping 300 bars is just overkill. I'm sure ppl would rather read a book. Quality over Quantity. One shot One kill. It's a new day. That unlimited bars thing is ancient in the age of the short attention span and ADHD. |

I'd counter that with the fact that I'll read or give feed on so many verses in a day that I might aswell have read an "unlimited bars of wackness" sometimes. I agree on your entertainment point, however, the ability to entertain on "unlimited bars" (As in no set short bar limit) takes infinitely more skill than the ability to entertain someone with 16. A standard "verse" is 16 bars (lines) a standard rap track contains between 3 and 4 verses so you're already looking at 64 lines just to read a single track. 64 lines would be a solid "unlimited bars" drop. So all I'll say to "noone's looking to read a full track's worth of verses" is this: If you don't have enough attention to read a TRACK's worth of lyrics, go get some Ritolin. As a person who suffered from ADHD as a child with no Ritolin it takes me all of a minute to read 64 lines, y'all can't focus for a MINUTE? If so then the world has really deteriorated more than I thought. Take someone like Smooth or Law, they often write 1 word on a line, in 64 lines they'd have probably about a quarter of the words that I or you would, I'd read a 200 line Smooth verse in a couple of minutes tops - how is that a chore?
You aren't highlighting a "change in the game" at all. You're highlighting a massive amount of laziness in the community, which is cool, I agree with you - this is a very lazy community. Half of the reason for doing this was the idea that if everybody put in significant bars (let's say 48 or 64 bars even, which is still significantly more than what y'all drop on he regular) you know like the amount of lyrics for ONE COMPLETE SONG, all at the same time, people will get the message that having your great works slept on is a very frustrating process. I don't condone laziness, nor the excuses for it.

Smh alright you got it
I got K.O'd after the 'as a person who suffered from adhd' I'll fall back. But I will say this, I''ve been guilty of purposely ignoring those 3 x 24 bar verses Freeda Open Mics. And I'm far from the laziest person around here. But I'd rather just listen to a song. No disrespect to the God, it is what it is. My philosophy is that these Open Mics are supposed to be fast food, quick bursts of energy. I used various techiniques to keep the reader entertained over the years. And it pretty much worked. Now I'm seen as this 'beast' but we both know I'm just a one trick pony, lol. Open Mic is a perfect platform to display your marketing skills. Shit is all gimmicks dude. |

We live by our gimmicks homie, do you really think I'd carry anywhere near the attitude I have if I wasn't such a beast with flow? Aint noone givin a shit about the weird crap I actually write about haha. And whilst I love those "fast food" OM's and I truly do (for anyone who hasn't go and peep DTK's latest drop, that's a really tasy little morsel) sometimes I want a 4 course Michelin star fine dining experience. The challenge was essentially me ordering an "all you can eat buffet" from a bunch of chefs with dishes that intrigue me. Anyone who really enjoys this thing we do as an audience as well as a participant who doesn't want to read stuff like Law writing an entire life-story with his beautiful style is a part time fan at best. Anyone who doesn't wanna read Nigma using those insane topical skills to create 3 contrasting yet linked stories - part time fan.
I'm literally going to be giddy with excitement on the 4th waiting to see if people drop these verses and come hard with it, that's as a true fan of the artform. I'll also be wanting feed on a mammoth of a horrorcore verse, and as such I pledge that everyone who does drop a verse I will spend a significant portion of time giving feedback. I back my shit up ;). |

Not sure if he's seen this actually, I will break my "i'm not an organizer just a challenger" thing and fire him and Arthur off a pm. Like I say, the challenges were never supposed to be easy, but I think every one of them has the potential to give the challengees a "classic verse" nomination if they come through.

Great to hear, very much looking forward to the read. (And tbh, with that in the mix I'd be very surprised if Arthur didn't "join in" so to speak.)

Cuba, it doesn't drop til 5th July, so it'd kinda defeat the point if people were dropping them all now...just saying ;)

You honestly couldn't fathom how happy I was to just read that haha. I may be a bit of a fanboy with this type of stuff but the prospect of reading what you and Chain come out with has literally just made my day. I'll be doing a full breakdown of both verses (i'm even going to count every single rhyming syllable so I can give solid statistics) gonna give really in-depth opinions on both verses then not say who I thought won, just leave it up to everyone else to decide for themselves. Gonna be the read of the decade for me I reckon haha.

Why bother though? That took me all of 20 seconds to type, is it really that much of a chore?
