Classic.
Have you not seen or done that at a match before? (I dunno who you support, if it's a big side, then maybe not) But that shit came from the lower leagues, where you occasionally have to take a 3-0/4-0 defeat, in the rain, in a shitty ground with no roof, that you've traveled half way across the country for- On the chin. My favourites recently have been- (When away at York) - 'He's one of your own.. He's one of your ownnnnn.. THAT JIMMY SAVILE!.. He's one of your own!' (When away at Mansfield, our rivals, and nearly matching their home support) - 'Shall we fill your ground for you?' (Oh, and fuck it, Mansfield again..) 'When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother, what shall I be? Shall I be Spireite, shall I be Stag? Here's what she said to me.. Wash your mouth my son, go get your fathers gun, and shoot some Mansfield scum.. Shoot some Mansfield scum..' (But my favouriteeeee, at home to Stockport, when there was such a bad fog, that you couldn't see the other half of the pitch from your respective stand, so apart from pretending we'd scored, there was a lot of..) 'Where the fucking hell are youuuu? Where the fucking hell are you?' (Honorable mention to our first song for our striker Armand Gnandjuillet) 'Can't pronounce his name.. Can't pronounce his naaaaame.. Can't pronounce his name, so, we'll just call him Dave!' |

City or United?
![]() I just didn't want to sound patronizing. Cos whilst i'm on the terraces a lot of the time, I know some people choose to support teams that they can't get to, or can't afford/haven't got the time to see. And, by and large, you don't catch the best chants on the television. Also, if you support someone going for the title in the Premiership, then EVERY loss is a disaster. We have longer seasons in the other leagues, so losses aren't AS important. This was Coventry last week at Arsenal. A great club that has found itself in League One, and who have been fucked over so bad by their owners, that they now ground share in fucking Northampton.. It's half time, and they're 2-0 down.. |

It must be so weird, not the fans fault of course.
But for a lot of Premiership fans, there is a Japanese business man somewhere, who's only been in the country a couple of times, but yet as seen their club play more than them.

I have no judgements for people that support teams that have bumped their prices up so high that normal fans can't afford them. I'm more about location. People from Plymouth supporting United, people from Leeds supporting Arsenal, etc.
As a Chesterfield lad born and bred, having to deal with a couple of my mates wanting to skip over the border and follow Sheff Wednesday/United, it's a topic very important to me haha

It's life or death. In the blood. Serious shit.
I always wondered how American fans could get that feeling for their teams, when all American sports team to have such short seasons. Like, a few games, and you're in the playoffs.

as the great Bill Shankly said... "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."
