News & Announcements: New Profile Redesign

I have mentioned previously about big changes coming to the site and part of that is a complete redesign of the profile pages for all users. But this is just the start, there's still plenty of big things coming down the pipeline!

On to the profiles, I will link to a few different profiles to highlight the different aspects.


Highlighting Your Best Work

Profiles now show the top 5 peices of work from Audio Mic and Open Mic. The order is decided based on a mixture of Classic Verses, Open of the Month / Audio Mic of the Month and members star ratings.

You can see the effected on Exoduzt's profile and how it his highlighted his Open Mic of the Month's by the icon next to the top 4 of his OM's and the star rating order.

With Dalinquent's profile, you can see how the icons have changed to reflect the source of his music in Auido Mic. Currently this only supports SoundCloud and YouTube. In the future I hope to turn this icon into a button to instantly play the music without leaving the page. Elite show's another good example of a how things are ordered.


Battle Stats

By now you will of noticed the battle stats on the top right of everyones profile. It now displays their rank and W:L:DQ record. Also included is the new Voting Count released recently, this will be starting very soon, I promise.

But suprisingly there was another page that always had this information, the little known Battle Stats page. Unfortunately it was hard to find and wasn't the prettiest of pages either. But this page has also received a redesign, as you can see from Illstarrr's stats page. A long with the easier to read information and W:L pie chart, there is new information such as Alltime Rank and Highest Rank I hinted at previously, however the Highest Rank data only goes back as far as 11th May 2015.


Hall of Fame

As you can see from Cuba, who is dominating Hall of Fame with the variety of awards, profile's now display the different awards members have won, past and present, in Hall of Fame.

Again like the Battle Stats page, we always had a Hall of Fame profile page, but now it has had a visual improvement as well as title's like MC of the Month added a long with Tournaments and Belts. You can see how these mesh together on Point Blank's profile. Chain needs a mention for the sheer volume of Open Mic of the Month's, most anyone has!


Additional Information

It goes without saying, the the layout of user information has been rearranged, if you didn't notice that by now - what's wrong with you? Account stats and personal user info is now on the right-hand side of profiles. You can message or 'follow' members from the buttons at the top by their name. If the Message button isn't there, their inbox is full!

And at the bottom you can see from The Law's profile how the contact and social accounts are displayed. The upper part with the larger icon's shows social media accounts that have been verified and linked with LA, this currnetly includes Twitter, Soundcloud and added to this update, Facebook. Below that with the smaller icons are unverified accounts such as Skype, Yahoo, Xbox and Playstation accounts.

On a side note, social accounts linked with LA now have the option of enabling and disabling the ability login to LA with these accounts. So if you're an idiot and allow your friends to Frape you, it might be best you disable logging in so your LA account doesn't get hijacked my a mischievous 'friend'.



As always, the success of LA includes you guys, by rating (honestly) Audio and Open Mics you can improve areas such as profiles, Classic Verses as well as help highlight threads for the Monthly Awards.

Yeah, I've been working on the profiles for a long time and it's been in my head for even longer.

There's plenty of idea's I have for LA, just limited by time and motivation. Which member attitudes and actions have a big impact on!

Quality work
