Of The Months

Of The Months, will be coming back this month. Well, technically the first of next month will begin voting. The way it will work will be a mixture of the panel, and you guys voting. The mods, will be nominating the potential winners for each OTM, and it will be put up on the 1st of every month for you guys to vote on. The voting will end during the last week of the month, which is subject to change to give the mods time to work out the votes and award winners. This is plenty of time for the community to vote. What will be done differently is that the mods aren't going to be responsible if there is not a ton of votes. That is all on you guys. When it ends, it ends so if there are 5 votes, and one guy has 2 votes then he is ending up the winner and if you guys complain, it's on you for not voting. 

Of The Months that will be available to win, along with the max amount that we ill be nominating for each:

MCOTM (MC Of The Month) - at most 5 people
OMOTM (Open Mic Of The Month) - at most 15 drops
AMOTM (Audio Mic Of The Month) - at most 15 drops
VOTM (Voter Of The Month) - at most 5 people

MC Of The Month - Seems as it has always had some controversy as to what the MC of the month should consist of to be called a winner. Whether it's contribution to the site, best writer that month or both. We will not be given you guidelines on how to vote on that. Since it is such a big opinion, that is up to what each voter thinks the MC of the month should have. Vote to your own opinion on that. 

Remember, 1st of the month the nominees will be up. Last week of the month, the voting will be closed and the winners will be announced. So get your stuff in.

I don't want to get too out of hand with it though. Worst troll of the month is mehh, and most elevated is pretty cool but taken into account that is one of the things people use when voting on MCOTM as well. It's gotta be something really good if we are going to add another OTM on there.

what about on certain aspects and attributes.  Like multi verse if the month, inners of the month, flow of the month, creativity of the month ect. What about teacher of the month?  Most influential of the month? Most diverse of the month? 

Just mind jotting on some stuff.

Like I said, I don't want to get crazy out of hand with a bunch of, "of the month" awards, unless it's something as big as the others that we have. For something like the ones your listing. 

Either you, or another member can basically make a list of things like Best multi's, Best flow.. Etc, put them in a thread in the emcee lounge or something, and if other members want to join in on the thread and list who their picks are that would work. But as for actual awards small things like those wouldn't really be worth the time to find nominee's and hand out awards for multi's, flow, most influential, etc...

How about Feeder of the Month, It is similar to voter of the month but purely based on giving feedback on Open/Audio Mics because alot of people put alot of work into feeding other peoples drop but don't necessarily vote on battles. I feel the work some people put in when feeding open mics needs recognising.

Shanks does have a valid point. I personally dont like voting unless its a clearcut battle. Im not skilled enough to be voting on every battle. I do however like to feed and help.

Suggested category for of the months of the month?
Or perhaps favoritism of the month
Or even double standard Of the month, Admittedly those last two may be open for corruption!
Or we could just see how the otms we already have work out first

I like that answer. However, the feeder of the month would be a good idea for the future, if it begins to pick up.

Why not just find a consensus then go with that? Kind of like how the NBA MVP is tangent on team wins. There has never been a NBA MVP whose team was not a top 2 seed in their conference, and that's not an official rule or anything, it's just consensus that became known through discussion.

this'll be dope, the guidelines you set Law are spot on. Its going to be opinionated so when ppl vote just go with your gut. Your criteria is going to differ from the next, and that is what Law is trying to let happen

It may be wise to check start dates for threads, as this is rather old.

Of the Month is essentially abandoned due to lack of interest by the community.
